The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Peaches:
Both: chip or restuck chip to leaves; enamels flakes and short cracks to the stem
- some expected abrasion, wear and scratches
smaller:
-consolidated body cracks to body and above foot, with associated small losses and overpainting
Jardinières:
Both: expected wear due to age and use
One: touch up to edges; overpainting to a section of mouth and to a spot on the underside
The other:
-a repaired crack to one narrow side and a small shallow chip to one long side’s upper edge
- sections of loss to the enamel and a section of overpainting to the mouth, and some touch-up to edges
