The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Pomegranate box and cover:
- The “calyx” is probably made up and the “exposed seeds” section and edges are recarved and overpainted, with associated repairs and overpainting to the mouth, flange and interior
- The cover with a few cracks to the body with associated overpainting and some small loss to the mouth
- Both cover and box with other expected age cracks, minor nicks to the carved decoration and edges
Circular box:
- A few nicks to the mouth rim of cover and foot rim of box, and a few expected tiny chips and nicks to the carved decoration on both
- Expected wear and some light scratches to the interior
