The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Ewer with prunus:
- cover and ewer possibly a marriage
cover: a touched-up chip and a few nicks to the mouth rim
ewer: a U-shaped firing crack to where handle joins the ewer; a shallow chip and a few nicks and some staining to the foot
plain ewer:
- cover and ewer possibly a marriage
cover: a shallow chip, a firing crack and a few nicks to the flange
ewer: a shallow chip to tip of spout and fine firing crack to where the connecting piece of the spout joins the body; minor polishing to foot rim possibly original to manufacture
bowl and cover:
cover - a minor firing flaw to the finial on the edge; a small chip to the mouth rim; the flange appears to be covered with a thin layer of paste and the firing cracks are filled
bowl- two chips and a few nicks to the mouth rim; a few firing cracks, including to the foot and base and to the interior; a small flaw to the interior
