The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Larger: - the mouth rim is covered with a metal mount and there appears to be a shallow glaze chip under the mouth; the dish has not been examined without its mount and the rim might have been ground down to it’s present shape
- some minor irregularities, burst bubbles and a few bumps to glaze
- a few shallow chips to inner foot rim and some kiln grit adhesion to the reverse, particularly to foot and underside of base
- the dish is slightly warped
smaller: - a glaze gap or firing crack to the reverse
- a few nicks to the mouth rim
- a minor glaze flake to foot
