A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture. The first: There is a minute polished chip near the interior mouthrim. There is a large black glaze imperfection near the foot of the insect on one side and some minor kiln grit adhering to the foot. The foot has also been polished. The second: The enamels are worn extensively on both sides and the opaque white enamel is bubbled somewhat. The third: There is a small glaze chip along the right upper edge of the panel scene, some gilt rubbed.
