TWO CARVED AGATE BOTTLES
OFFICIAL SCHOOL, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
Each bottle is of rounded, rectangular form on an oval footrim. The first is carved in relief through the brownish skin of the honey-toned stone with a saddled horse tethered to a nearby post and a bat above. The second bottle is cleverly carved on one side with a grazing horse through the ochre marking in the translucent, honey-toned stone.
