TWO OVERLAY GLASS BOTTLES
19TH CENTURY
The first bottle is of rounded form on an oval footrim and carved through the red, dark green and opaque black overlays to a semi-translucent, golden glass ground with two mandarin ducks swimming across swelling waves amidst trailing foliage or wispy clouds. The second bottle is of squat, rounded form on an oval footrim and carved through the red overlay to bubble-suffused white ground with a continuous scene of a figure leading four Bactrian camels beneath pine and cloud scrolls.
