The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is mounted to a wood panel. Wear and bends are to the edges and corners of the lead. Surface soiling, hairline scuffs and small spots of skinning with various associated losses are visible intermittently. A diagonal abrasion with associated losses is near the upper center edge. Similar losses are visible occasionally, notably to the word 'BETTER' in the upper register and to the lower left quadrant. A small abraded area is to the lower right corner. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
