Lot Essay

This highly sophisticated timepiece encompasses an alarm that, once activated, will chime “La Gazza Ladra” by Gioachino Rossini. Borrowing the principle of musical boxes, the chiming mechanism of the wristwatch operates via a rotating disk with pins, which generate a melody when encountering the blades of the keyboard in a predetermined sequence.

With a classic and elegant design, the Breguet "La Musicale" is built within a 48mm case manufactured to house a highly sophisticated self-winding movement of 633 components, as well as optimize the acoustic of the wristwatch. A membrane in metallic glass is fitted under the movement in order to amplify the sound without compromising water-resistance. Once the chiming mechanism in operation, the engraved dial of the wristwatch will rotate during the entire duration of the alarm. The present wristwatch will delight its owner through its sharp melody and aesthetics.
