Lot Essay

The Kalpa collection was introduced in 2001. With the distinctive tonneau-shaped cases and curved lugs on the watches are amongst Parmigiani Fleurier most recognisable models.

Born in Switzerland, Michel Parmigiani grew up close to craftsmen who fascinated him throughout his youth in the Canton of Neuchâtel.
Michel Parmigiani studied watchmaking and first devoted himself to the restoration of timepieces. Decades later, thanks to the trust shown in him by the Sandoz Family Foundation, the Parmigiani Fleurier brand is alive and well. The brand is today known for their various high-quality tourbillon watches and their various collections including the Toric, Tondagraph, Kalpa, and the Bugatti Type 370.
