Lot Essay

Created for the 150th anniversary from the manufacture, the present lot is named for the founder of the manufacturer Georges Favre-Jacot.

Released in a limited edition of 150, the Academy Georges Favre-Jacot was developed with a Fusee and Chain mechanism in order to maintain accuracy and energy output at a consistent rate. The mechanism is attached to the barrel at the 10 o clock portion of the dial while the chain and Fusee live around the 1-2 o clock portion of the dial. The Fusee and chain transmission compensates the power of the mainspring by keeping the movement balanced and consistent.

The Academy Georges Favre-Jacot displays decades of Horological craftsmanship by highlighting the lauded history of Zenith as well as displaying the brand’s modern technical achievement with their incorporation of the Fusee Chain mechanism to their iconic El Primero movement.
