The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Canvas is relined. Minor abrasions to the extreme edges and light surface soiling. Fine lines of craquelure and pinpoint areas of pigment flaking throughout. An approximate ¹⁄₂ in. pigment loss in diameter between two chickens. Examined under ultraviolet light. The canvas presents with a milky green varnish. Scattered strokes of inpainting, specifically to the background, upper left corner and small area of the left foreground.
