Lot Essay

The New York jewelry firm of Wedderien was formed in the mid-1920's by former employees of Dreicer & Co., one of the leading jewelers in the world from the late 19th century until the 1920's. The founding members included watchmaker Albert Weddien, buyer Edwin J. Case, who had been the former acting president of Dreicer & Co., jeweler R. Helstern, and pearl stringer Minnie A. Morgan.
