The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The card support is approximately 2 millimeters thick and is not reinforced on the reverse. It is mounted in the frame, set in a circular piece of wood. The painting cannot easily be dislodged from this wood. The varnish is clear and the paint is stable. Under natural light a few shrinkage cracks are visible along the lower center area of the painting. these have been strengthened. A good deal of impasto is preserved in the highlights. There is slight scuffing at the extreme edges due to frame contact. Under ultraviolet light the varnish fluoresces green and there is a ¼ inch area of strengthening in the lower center area, just below the edge of the neck. The painting is in ready to hang condition.
