Lot Essay
Brandon's Pick Jaeger-LeCoultre debuted the original Geophysic in 1958 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the company and 1958 was the first International Geophysical Year which was an effort put forth by 67 countries to encourage scientific exploration. The original model was only produced for approximately one year making them highly sought after. In 2014, JLC decided to introduce the Geophysic 1958 to commemorate the legendary model. JLC did a fantastic job with the re-edition by keeping the style close to the original. The most noticeable differences are the larger case and movement. The Geophysic 1958 was made in a limited edition of 800 pieces in stainless steel and this is a great opportunity to own a nice example complete with all accessories and paperwork.
