Lot Essay
This particular reference 145022 is the so called "Scritte Dritte" because of the straight "THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON" writing on the case back. These models are sought after by collectors because after the Speedmasters have similar text, but in a circle around the central medallion. OMEGA Speedmasters continue to gain popularity and remain one of the most iconic chronographs produced.
According to the Archives of OMEGA, the present watch was manufactured on April 26, 1974 and delivered to the United States of America.

The dial, hands, and crown appear to be original. The luminescent material in the hands have darkened. The bezel has scratches. The crystal has light scratches and has the OMEGA logo in the center. This watch has 809 end links with a 1450 bracelet, the bracelet is likely a later replacement. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
