The case is in good condition with few light scratches. According to the Patek service papers from 2007 the following work was done: clean, re-oil, overhaul, refinish case, hands, and regulate movement. The service sticker is still on the case back. The hallmarks on the back of the 5 and 11 o’clock lugs are visible. The hands appear to be original and in excellent condition. The porcelain enamel dial has no visible cracks. As mentioned in the lot notes, typically these later reference 2526 watches come with the later enamel dial, however, it is possible that the original dial was damaged and was replaced with the present dial that is circa 1955 or Patek Philippe simply decided to use an earlier dial they may have had for the original production of this watch in 1963. These first series dials feature markers that are attached to the dial with prongs and are identifiable because of the dimples underneath the markers. Later versions had the markers attached to the dials with adhesive. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
