Lot Essay
The Submariner reference 5513 was launched in 1962 and was produced until circa 1990. The reference 5513 is one of the longest-running continuously-produced references in Rolex's history. This particular example features a glossy service replacement dial with white gold surrounding the luminous hour markers. This watch features a 5513 case back with I.72 stamped on the inside, indicating it is from the first quarter of 1972.

The case and bracelet are good condition with scratches. The case appears to have been polished. Behind the lugs under the end-links have scratches from removing the bracelet. The bracelet has stretch. The bezel insert has scratches and signs of wear. The dial and hands are service Rolex replacements. The luminous material in the hands and on the dial is matching in color. The crystal has scratches in the center and a small chip on the edge at 11 o’clock. This watch has 501B end links and a 93150 bracelet. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
