Lot Essay
Charles Lindbergh was an American aviator that in 1927 completed the first non-stop flight from North America to mainland Europe. It was also the first trans-Atlantic solo flight. He won the coveted Orteig Prize for this feat and was awarded $25,000. In 1931, Longines created a watch for Lindbergh that featured an hour-angle to assist in his navigation. The watch offered here is a re-issue of that original watch and is encompassing of the history of aviation and Longines' heritage.

The case is in good condition with minor signs of wear. The case has developed patina. The hallmark is visible between the 6 o'clock lugs. The case back has scratches throughout and has developed a strong patina. The officer's case back hinge is tight. The markings are crisp to the inside of the officer's case back. The movement appears clean. The bezel is in good condition with patina. The dial and hands are in good condition and appear to be original. There is a smudge to the middle silvered dial. The buckles are both in good condition with patina. The inner dial rotates by turning the crown at the second position at the time of cataloguing. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
