The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with light scratches and few, small nicks. All lugs have light scratches and the lugs at 7 and 11 o'clock each have a light longer scratch. The lugs retain their feet. The case back is in good condition with light scratches and shows slight evidence of being opened. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The crown is original. The dial and hands are in good condition and appear to be original. The subsidiary dial hand has developed a light patina. The 12 and 1 o'clock hour markers have developed patina. The crystal has a light scratches to its outer edge near 5 o'clock. The dial has a small scratch between the 11 and 12 o'clock hour markers to its minute track splitting '52 and '53. The Extract from the Archives states that the watch originally came on a leather strap. The watch is currently on a Gay Freres steel bracelet. The bracelet is stamped "4, 62" indicating its production in the fourth quarter of 1962. The bracelet is in good condition with some stretch. The clasp has light scratches and the Calatrava Cross. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
