Lot Essay
Rolex introduced the Submariner in 1953 and for the 50th anniversary Rolex came out with the reference 11610 to celebrate. The 50th anniversary debuted in 2003 and was in production until circa 2010. This example is from 2005. The anniversary model has a green bezel insert and “Maxi” dial; which means the hour markers are larger than the hour markers on the regular Submariner of this time period. The 50th Anniversary Submariner is highly sought after by collectors.
