The case has scratches throughout. The case appears to have been polished. The numbers are visible, but faint between the lugs. The crown has been polished. The case back has been polished. The case back has scratches and nicks. The inside of the case back is stamped "1625" and "IV.68" indicating its production in the third quarter of 1968. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The gold bezel has developed patina. The hands appear to be later replacements. The luminous hour plots have partially or fully deteriorated at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 o'clock. There is small loss of paint in "Rolex" and the "m" is lost in "Chronometer." The hour marker and hands have developed patina. The luminous material in the hands has darkened. The date wheel is champagne. The date changes as the hand passes midnight. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
