Lot Essay

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Patek Philippe, the company created this special edition watch in 1989 at the request of Nishibo Shoji, the Japanese distributor for the brand. The watch was released to the Japanese market and only 500 were made – half with ivory-white dials and the other half with anthracite. Here we have one of the ivory-white dial examples. The case back has a cast gold emblem with the Calatrava logo in the center and “Patek Philippe – 1839 – 1989” around it. The buckle also has the Calatrava cross to it, specific to this reference. Offered in excellent condition, this is a watch that should not be missed.
