Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The watch shows signs of wear throughout and has been lightly polished. The backs of the lugs have scratches from the spring bars. The hallmarks are visible to the backs of the 1 and 11 o’clock lugs and there is some patina around the case back. The inside case back has watchmaker’s marks. The dial and hands are in good condition and appear to be original. The lume plots at 1, 2, and 3 o’clock have fully deteriorated and at 4 and 7 partially. The lume has darkened with age to match that of the hands. The dial has what appears to be very fine cracking – mostly in its lower half. The hands have developed a patina. The day is displayed in Spanish. The buckle has a light patina. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
