The watch shows signs of wear throughout, commensurate with its age and has small nicks to its side at 9 o’clock and to the lug at 1 o’clock. There are signs of wear between the lugs and the numbers are faint and somewhat obscured. The case back has scratches throughout and the original Rolex engravings can be faintly seen. The inside case back is stamped ‘6294’ and ‘IV.53’ and has watchmaker’s marks. The crystal has a small chip to its edge between 3 and 4 o’clock. The dial is in good condition with some signs of wear around its edges and has been relumed. The seconds hand has also been relumed. The hands have developed a strong patina and the lume in them has gone completely black. The date wheel is a roulette color scheme, alternating between red and black. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
