The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The watch is in good condition with normal signs of wear throughout and appears to have been lightly polished. Each lug has bevels. The case back has an engraving that reads, “G. MITCHELL DAVIS, 1975.” The inside case back is stamped ‘III.71.’ The crown, crystal, bezel insert, and pearl are service replacements. The date wheel has a patina on it. The dial and hands are in very good condition and appear to be original. There are two small spots to the edge of the dial at 6 and near 12 o’clock. The hands have developed patina. The bracelet is a later service replacement in good condition with normal signs of wear. The date changes as the hands pass midnight. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
