The case is in good condition with light scratches. The case and lugs appear to have been lightly polished. The numbers are visible, but obscured by scratches through them. The back of the lugs have scratches and show evidence of the bracelet. The case back has scratches and small nicks. The inside of the case back is stamped '6605' and 'IV.56' indicating its production in the third quarter of 1956. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The bezel is in good condition. The dial has yellowed throughout and especially around the Rolex signature. The luminous plots at the hour markers have all partially deteriorated and darkened with age. The dial has some intermittent spotting throughout. The hands and hour markers have developed a patina. The hour hand appears to have been relumed. The luminous material in the minute hand has darkened. The end links are marked '55' and the bracelet '1, 57' indicating its production in the first quarter of 1957. The bracelet has scratches, stretch, and the clasp has been polished. The date wheel alternated between black and red. The date changes as the hands pass midnight. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
