The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case has scratches and small nicks throughout. The case and lugs have been lightly polished. The numbers are visible between the lugs. The gold bezel has developed a light patina and has been visibly polished between both sets of lugs. The back of the lugs have scratches. The case back has scratches throughout and the engravings are faint to it. The inside of the case back is stamped '5501' and 'II.1958,' indicating its production in the second quarter of 1958. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The dial has turned to an uneven orange/brown color. The outer ring is more orange, as is the center and there is a ring around the center part that is a darker color. There is some loss of paint on the dial and around the hour markers. The luminous plots at the hour markers have darkened with age and have partially deteriorated at 1 and 2 o'clock. The plots at 4 and 5 o'clock have darkened more than the others. The hour markers, hands, and coronet have developed patina. The luminous material in the hands have darkened with age and are partially black. The end links are marked '57' and the bracelet '1, 59' indicating its production in the first quarter of 1959. The bracelet is in good condition and appears to have been lightly polished. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
