The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with light scratches. The case appears to have been lightly polished. The numbers are visible between the lugs, but there is scratch through each. The bottom of the lug at 11 o'clock has a small nick. The back of the lugs have scratches and show evidence of the bracelet. The case back has scratches and a small nick. The inside of the case back is stamped '6494' and 'IV.56' indicating its production in the fourth quarter of 1956. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The bezel has scratches and between 1 and 2 o'clock, small nicks. The dial and hands appear to be original. The dial has yellowed throughout and there are white outlines around the hour markers. There is small scratch on the dial near the 1 o'clock hour marker. The hour markers show signs of wear with scratches. The luminous plots at the hour markers have darkened with age and deteriorated slightly. The markers at 1 and 2 o'clock have deteriorated more. The hands have developed patina and the luminous material has darkened in them. The end links are marked '60' and the bracelet '7205.' The rivet bracelet is in good condition with light scratches and some small nicks. The clasp is Brevet. The bracelet is in good condition. The date wheel alternated between black and red. The date changes as the hands pass midnight. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
