The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The case is in good condition with light scratches and few small nicks to the 9 o'clock side of the case. The case and lugs have been lightly polished. The numbers between the lugs are visible. The bottom of the serial number is obscured by a rub. The back of the lugs have scratches and show evidence of the bracelet. The back of the lug at 11 o'clock has the number '18' engraved to it. The case back has light scratches and shows evidence of being opened. The inside of the case back is stamped '6202' and 'III.53' indicating its production in the third quarter of 1953. The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. The crown and bezel are worn and are showing their brownish color underneath. The bezel insert has scratches and has slightly faded. It is missing its pip. The watch reads well on the Geiger counter. The dial is in good condition and appears to be original. The dial has developed patina. The luminous hour plots have darkened with age and have partially deteriorated at 12, 1, 2, 8, 10, and 11 o'clock. The hands have developed patina. The luminous material in the hands has darkened with age and there appears to be a small amount missing in the minute hand. The luminous material is completely missing from the seconds hand. The end links are marked '80' and the bracelet '4, 51' indicating its production in the fourth quarter of 1951. The bracelet is in good condition with scratches and appears to have been polished. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
