Lot Essay

Launched in 1931, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso wristwatch was created at the request of British polo players in India. Due to the roughness of their sport, the wristwatch was created with a reversible head that could slide on its base and flip over on itself to give place to a metallic cover protecting the dial from impacts. Through its Art Deco design, the Reverso wristwatch established itself as one of Jaeger-LeCoultre's most successful timepieces.
