Lot Essay
Here we have a Mahogany two-day Marine Chronometer with helical hairspring and power reserve indication. The dial is signed Barraud, 41 Cornhill, No. 2721, Maker to the Royal Navy, Circa 1850. This exact Marine Chronometer was sold here at Christie’s in our New York Important Watches sale in 2012.

The hands show signs of wear and the minute hand appears to have been repaired. The power reserve is showing the clock is fully wound, but the clock is not functioning. The clock requires a service. The movement has not been tested for accuracy.
