Aside from the strikingly clean look of this clock, it is important within the history of watch making. When this model desk clock came out in the 1940’s it was the only chronometer rated 8-day clock available with a 20-jewel movement. This clock features a “jump second” mechanism where the seconds hand ticks, rather than sweeping. The movement is known as the caliber 120 / 59-8D SCS, SCS stands for “seconde au centre sautante” which is French for "jumping center second". Furthermore, this clock comes complete with its original fitted wooden box, guarantee and product literature. This is a rare opportunity to own a clock important to Omega's history of excellence.
