Lot Essay

According to the Archives of Omega the present watch was originally invoiced on 6 June 1937 in Switzerland.

An unusual example of early 20th century watchmaking, this timepiece arrives to us in splendid condition. The dial is untouched and aged with a gentle off-white patina, and the two-tone finish is still perfectly preserved. The case as well is in very good condition, wonderfully showcasing its unusual combination of straight faceted sides and curved lugs. A final touch is given by the bracelet, a creation by Gay Frères, one of the most appreciated jewelers from the 20th century who specialized in high end watch bracelets.
