Lot Essay

According to the Archives of Omega, the present watch was sold in Canada in 1953

Reference 2700 (and its waterproof sister reference 2699) represents the first appearance on the market of the legendary “Pie Pan” dial. Distinguished by its elaborate construction with contrasting polished and brushed finishes, inclined rim and dodecahedral center, it is now considered among the most iconic dials of the time. The present timepiece is a rare occasion for the demanding collector to acquire an extremely well preserved example of this historical reference.
