The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of the most iconic and legendary watches ever to be produced. The Speedmaster came out in 1957 and was originally meant for race car drivers, but in the 1960s it became associated with space after NASA designated them as flight-qualified in 1965 and began providing them to astronauts for use starting with the Gemini missions and most famously with the Apollo missions. Over the years OMEGA has made changes and upgrades to the Speedmaster, but no edition or upgrade has been as drastic as when the firm introduced The Dark Side of the Moon in 2013. This model features a zirconium oxide ceramic case, pushers, crown, buckle and dial as well as an automatic Co-Axial movement. This watch pays homage to the Apollo 8 astronauts who were the first people ever to see the dark side of the moon firsthand.
