Lot Essay
Two aesthetic traits highlight this watch. The first one is its wonderfully preserved dial. Its design can be considered somehow transitional: it is already much cleaner than the style in fashion just few years before – minimalist dials are typical of the second half of the century – but the two tone finish, Arabic and baton numerals and outer circle are reminiscent of the 1930s and 40s. The second trait is its lugs: so-called corne de vache – “bull’s horn” – for obvious reasons, this extremely recognizable and iconic design is mostly associated with Vacheron Constantin. This Patek Philippe exception is as unusual as it is eye-pleasing and collectible.

In very good condition, it may have been professionally cleaned a long time ago. It now presents a light off-white. The case is in good condition, with minor signs of polishing. The lugs are still full and well preserve their unusual design. A layer of oxidation is present in places. The hallmark to the lug still present and well defined.
