Lot Essay
The present Rolex model is one of the rare instances in which a manual movement is housed in an Oyster case. Oyster cases feature a screw down crown for maximum waterproofness and they usually accommodate an automatic movement in order to minimize the number of times the crown is opened. This timepiece however shows that exceptions to this rule, probably dictated by the will of offering more affordable waterproof watches, do in fact exist.
