Lot Essay

The Memovox Deep Sea made its debut in 1959 and was the first diver watch with an alarm function. The purpose of the alarm is to remind the diver when to return to the surface. In 2011, Jaeger-LeCoultre came out with a new version to commemorate the original Deep Sea Alarm. The present watch stays true to the 1959 design and functions while featuring a plexiglass crystal and 100 meter depth rating.

The tribute model came in two variations - one for the US market limited to 359 pieces and one for the European market limited to 959 pieces. The main difference is in the design of the dial with less writing for the European market model. The present watch is numbered 276/959.
