Lot Essay
The reference 6263 was introduced into the market in the early 1970s and was available in stainless steel, 14K and 18K gold. The model was fitted with the " Oyster" or "screw down" chronograph buttons and a bezel with black plastic insert, the tachymeter scale printed in white.

The case is in good condition with light scratches and few small nicks. The case and lugs have been lightly polished. The numbers are visible between the lugs. The top of the lug at 1 o'clock has several small nicks. The back of the lugs have light scratches and show slight evidence of the bracelet. The case back has light scratches throughout. The back edge of the case between 9 and 10 o'clock has a slight indentation. The inside of the case back is stamped '6263.' The inside of the case back has watchmaker's marks. Both chronograph pushers are later replacements. The bezel insert is a later replacement with a crack between '65' and '70'. The dial is in good condition and appears to be original. The luminous plots are intact at the hour markers, except for at 2 o'clock. The plots at 3 and 9 o'clock have yellowed with age. The hands have developed patina. The hands appear to be later replacements. The end links are stamped '557' and the bracelet '78350, 19.' The bracelet is marked 'G' and is a later replacement. The bracelet has light scratches throughout. The clasp has been polished. The chronograph is working at the time of cataloguing. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
