Lot Essay
The Rolex Explorer II was first released in 1971 and was specifically designed for cave explorers. This model features a fixed bezel with 24-hour display and a 24-hour hand that can be set to distinguish day from night hours or to set a second time zone. The Rolex Explorer II has been updated over the years and this specific watch is the reference 216570 and debuted in 2011. The larger 42mm case and all in-house 3187 movement are the major differences in this model compared to its predecessors. The Explorer II is a sporty and classic watch, great for everyday wear with a useful complication.

The case and bracelet are in excellent condition with few very light scratches. According to the Rolex service papers, the case and bracelet were refinished and the crown was polished. Dial and hands appear to be original to the watch and are in excellent condition. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch.
