Lot Essay
Rolex introduced its Explorer model in circa 1953 and it is still in production today. As one of Rolex's most popular sports watches, the Explorer is easily recognizable by its black dial with the luminous triangle at 12, luminous Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, and luminous baton markers for the remaining hours. The inside of the case back is stamped IV.67, indicating it was made in the fourth quarter of 1967. Although the dial and hands appear to have been replaced during a service in the 1980s, it remains a stunning watch and would be great for daily wear.
