Rebecca's Pick
The Memovox Deep Sea Alarm debuted in 1959. This was the first dive watch with an alarm function. The purpose of the alarm is to remind the diver when to return to the surface. In 2011, Jaeger-LeCoultre came out with this model to commemorate the original Deep Sea Alarm. The tribute model came with two variations: one for the US market and one for the European market. Jaeger-LeCoultre made 359 examples of this watch and this is number 129. This example was made for the United States market. The main difference is the dial design. The USA market variation features the designation “LeCoultre” (as found on the originals for the American market) under 12 o’clock as well as “Deep Sea Alarm Automatic,” above 6 o’clock on the dial. This watch stays true to the 1959 design and functions, featuring an acrylic crystal and 100 meter depth rating. This model was a hit with collectors and remains in demand today.
