Lot Essay

Eric's Pick
The reference 2526 was the first self-winding watch made by Patek Philippe. This model came out in 1953 and was produced until the early 1960s until it was succeeded by the reference 3428. This particular example features the highly sought after first series dial as well as the original retailer signature on the dial, Gubelin. The removable brick bracelet was added by Gubelin and has the Gubelin symbol stamped into the clasp. The bracelet on this watch is very special as it is the only one known to have hammering on the center links. Dual signed Patek Philippe watches like the present example are highly sought after by collectors. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a dual signed reference 2526 with a possibly unique Gubelin bracelet.
