拍品专文
John's Pick Patek Philippe did not use reference numbers to identify their watches before the early 1930s. Therefore this particular example does not have one. The case, movement, and dial are signed making this triple signed. The dial has an Art Deco style with Arabic numerals and spade hands. For an 89 year old watch, this timepiece is in well preserved condition relative to many other wristwatches from this period that are now sadly in poor condition.
This watch was sold on October 12, 1929 just a couple weeks before the Wall Street crash of 1929, known as Black Thursday.
The case is in good condition with scratches. The case appears to be polished. The hallmark on the side of the case at 5 o'clock shows signs of being polished. The spring bar holes in the sides of the lugs show signs of being polished. The dial appears to be reprinted and has developed patina. The edge of the dial shows signs of wear. The hands appear to be original. The case back is engraved, "Avery Robinson Louisville 1929." The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
