Lot Essay
The reference 5500 was launched in 1957. A variety of names were used on this reference, including Air-King, Explorer, Everest & Metropolitan. This particular example has the Air-King designation on the dial. Finding a vintage Air-King with original box and papers is not common.

This watch has no. 557 end links and a 78350 bracelet. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy.
