Lot Essay

The reference 5513 was launched in 1962 and ran until about 1990. The reference 5513 is one of the longest running continuously produced references in Rolex's history. This particular example features a glossy black "spider web" dial, earning this nickname due to the cracking of the top gloss on the dial. This watch features a 5512 case back. It was common for the reference 5513 examples to have reference 5512 case backs and for reference 5512 examples to have reference 5513 case backs.
