Lot Essay
The Submariner reference 5513 was launched in 1962 and was produced until circa 1990. This is one of the longest-running continuously-produced references in Rolex's history. Vintage 5513’s are highly sought after by collectors at the moment and this is a good opportunity to own a fresh-to-market one from the original owner.

The case has scratches and nicks. The case appears to be polished. The bezel has faded and has scratches. The dial and hands have developed patina. The dial and hands appear to be early Rolex service replacements. The luminous material in the hands has darkened more than the material in the hour markers. The lume is cracked in two places in the hour hand and in one place on the minute hand. The crystal has scratches. The bracelet shows wear and has scratches. The bracelet is number 7206 and the end links are numbered 80. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
