Lot Essay
The reference 1680 was the first Submariner to have the date function. The inside of the case back is stamped IV.70 indicating is was manufactured in the fourth quarter of 1970. The Submariner reference 1680 is considered an all-time classic and a great watch to wear daily.

The luminous material in the hands and on the dial has turned to a cream color and matches. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch.
