This Universal Geneve Compax is known as the “Nina Rindt” because it was worn by the wife of the famous Formula One driver Jochen Rindt. Nina was seen and photographed numerous times wearing this style of Universal Geneve Compax. This Compax has a “panda” dial (meaning it has white base with black registers) that is reminiscent of the panda version of the Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona. In addition, it features twisted lugs, round pushers, a black aluminum bezel with a “dot over 90” in the tachymeter (a similar “dot over 90” configuration is found on vintage OMEGA Speedmaster bezels), and the legendary Valjoux 72 movement (marked as the Universal Geneva caliber 130), which was also found in the early Rolex Daytonas. The “Nina Rindt” Compax has significantly risen in value and interest the last two years. This is a rare opportunity to purchase what has become an iconic vintage chronograph.
